The Spiritual Strategies that help me Recharge & Rise

Hey, you. You suffering

from burnout,

from negative self-talk (even though you work your ass off and are a good human), and

from staying stuck (even though it may seem like you’re doing great).

I see you.

And I want you to know that you can change this. You can change your life.

I’ve been there.

And I’m going to share with you how I’ve changed my life with spiritual strategies.

Why spiritual? How will that help my business?

Spiritual is the adjective form of the word spirit, which comes from the Latin word for “breath,” and means the thing that animates life.

It is our life force. It is what drives us, in every area of our life.

The momentum you get when you incorporate spiritual strategies into your life is unreal… but let me be real: it doesn’t mean everything will change overnight.

What it means is that you,

Have more peace.

Are kinder to yourself.

Have more joy on this journey.

Are honest about your dreams, and start focusing on the work that will actually get you there.

Tearing yourself down and spinning your wheels isn’t helping your business.

You and your business will be more successful if you take care of your life force.

If this is what you need right now, I want to offer the daily spiritual practices that help me recharge, step into my power, and rise to achieve crazy big goals fast.

Each of these strategies has maximum impact if you make them a habit and a practice, so I’ll break down what each of those looks like.

Visualize.

You can find all kinds of statistics confirming that visualizing your goals makes you more likely to achieve them. But what I find most helpful is to visualize your big dream, not your goals. Your big dream is what will keep you motivated when you’re getting frustrated or overwhelmed, and it will help you learn how to expand to receive more abundance.

You may be catching on that there’s really a 1.a. and a 1.b. to this. Before you can visualize, you need to get clear on the life you want for yourself. You need to know your big dream.

Create your big dream.

The habit: At least 2x a year, set aside 30 minutes of protected time to allow yourself to be fully creative about your dream life. (And the first time you do this, set aside at least an hour. You will probably need time to process some emotions that come up.)

The practice: Access your big dream anytime you need to get back on track or feel inspired to work toward your goals.

Visualize your big dream.

The habit: Spend 10 minutes each morning in guided or silent meditation. The key is to feel what it will be like to be living your big dream life. Put any doubts about how or questions about when out of your mind. This is meant to be inspiring.

The practice: Whenever you catch yourself feeling overwhelmed or frustrated with your goals, take a minute to access the feeling you have when you visualize your big dream. Let it remind you that you can figure this out, and motivate you to keep going.

Write down goals.

When you get clear and announce your goals every day, you bring intentionality and become your own accountability partner. Keeping your promises to yourself is a form of self-love and respect. You’re worth it.

The habit: Every morning, write down 10-15 goals that will support your big dream as if they’ve already happened. These typically don’t change day-to-day, but trust your intuition and change them up as needed.

→ Then, write down 1 thing that you will work on today to support your goals.

If you have the urge to write down more than 1 thing, make a to-do list for the Universe, God, Creator, your term of choice for everything else. This is actually another cool way to amplify gratitude, because you start to see things crossed off that list you’ll be thankful and have more trust in the journey.

(Pro tip: I listen to specific music when I do this, music that focuses on manifestation, showing up the way I want to show up, or having the experiences/success I want to experience.)

The practice: When you get off track during the day (not if… when… we’re all human living human lives), close your eyes and come back to the 1 thing you promised to do to make your life better. If it’s feeling overwhelming, just commit to spending 5 minutes on it and then give yourself a break.

Amplify gratitude.

When you start to see all of the good things already happening in your life and business, you’ll be more likely to see opportunities that help you create your big dream. And, it just plain makes life more joyful.

The habit: Every morning, write down 3-5 things you’re grateful for. (Note: I think this is a great one to do right before going to bed, too. The gratitude from the day is more fresh, and it sets your brain up to process your gratitude more as you sleep. It just doesn’t work with my schedule right now, but if evening is better for you, I love that for you.)

The practice: Throughout the day, take a few seconds (yes, it really only takes a few seconds) to acknowledge any little thing that is working in your favor, and any little thing that is worth appreciating around you. You are practicing joy, and the more you do it, the better you’ll get.

Anchor with breath & movement.

Incorporate all of the action you’re taking every day to achieve your goals and big dream into your body. Physically experiencing your actions will help you recharge your energy, incorporate your experiences, retain new information, and get clutter (mental and physical) out of the way so you can rise.

The habit: Move your body. My routine is to do 10 minutes of yoga as soon as I get up in the morning. It feels so good to stretch and wake up in this intentional way. I also spend anywhere from 20-60 more minutes at some other point in the day going to the gym, taking a walk, or doing a longer yoga session. But you do movement that feels right to you. The point is to incorporate your big dream into your movement. You could remind yourself that moving your body supports your big dream of feeling great in your body, or focus on an aspect of your dream as you breathe in your new life, and exhale what is no longer serving you.

The practice: Celebrate your wins, big and small. As you practice gratitude throughout the day, train your brain to work toward your goals by providing positive feedback. This could look like a few breaths with a smile on your face to acknowledge your work, or a dance break to feel that good energy from the W, or treating yourself to something that you’ve been waiting for until you hit a milestone. And listen to your body - when the energy is feeling stuck, move it.

BONUS tip: When you feel frustrated throughout the day, reframe “I have to” to “I get to” - or “this is a test” to “the Universe is co-creating with me.” These reframes acknowledge the power you have in your life, and help you take ownership of what you want your life experience to be.

Example: “I have to take the kids to school” → “I get to take the kids to school”

Example: “The Universe is testing me by having the wifi randomly go out when I have a website project I need to work on” → “The Universe is co-creating with me by having the wifi randomly go out because I am meant to focus on something else right now”
