Ditch the Noise, Build Real Relationships

I find networking to be extremely fruitful. I walk away from each event with exactly what I need.

But that’s not the story I hear from most founders.

What I hear instead is:

❌ It’s not worth the time

❌ The conversations are surface-level

❌ It feels like a business card exchange with no follow-up

Founders don’t need more connections. We need the right ones.

The kind that challenge our thinking. The kind that open doors. The kind that build real relationships and lead to real momentum.

The difference between my experience with networking and a typical founder experience?

Energy, stage-awareness, and mindset.

Energy

Even if you're an extrovert, interacting with so many different energies for multiple days can take a toll. Add in poor sleep, inconsistent meals, skipped workouts, or just being out of your normal environment and it’s no surprise founders leave feeling drained.

How to protect your energy:

  • Meditate daily (even just 5 minutes) to reclaim your energy and release the energetic hooks of others

  • Hydrate constantly. Bonus: more water = more movement = more presence

  • Prioritize sleep before and during the event so you’re not running on fumes

Stage-Awareness

What you need from networking will change as your business evolves. That’s why it’s crucial to know where you are now, where you’re headed, and how this event helps you get there.

Tips for stage-aware networking:

  • Set an intention. Go beyond “meet people.” Ask: What do I need right now - knowledge, intros, visibility, the belief to keep going?

  • Do your homework. Know who’s attending, what they do, and how your paths might intersect.

  • Honor your time. If the conversation doesn’t align, gracefully move on. Your time is valuable. Focus on the relationships that matter.

Mindset

Your mindset sets the tone for what you attract. When you walk in grounded, open, and in gratitude, you shift your energy and people notice.

Mindset shifts that change everything:

  • Stay open to possibility. Don’t fixate on who you think you need to meet. Leave space for serendipity.

  • Give before you get. Make intros, offer insights, add value. It comes back tenfold.

  • From “have to” → “get to.” Networking is a privilege, not a chore. When you show up with that energy, everything changes.

This is how you build curated connections in person. And this is what I'm bringing to the Founder Frequency app.

In this next evolution of the founder journey, it’s not about how many people you meet. It’s about who gets in your corner. Who you can count on.

The beta version of the app will launch in June, and it’s designed to:

⚡ Help you build real community and relationships with aligned founders

⚡ Match you with curated events and opportunities

⚡ Provide the tools, coaching, and resources you need to move your business forward in tangible ways
