Q1 Reflections & Q2 Strategy: Alignment for Sustainable Growth
As we step into Q2, and into the blossoming and growth season of Spring, now is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and recalibrate.
Not just on what got done, but on what actually moved the needle.
When I did this exercise, it was incredibly encouraging. We often don't give ourselves enough credit for our achievements. Looking back at Q1 made me realize just how far I'd come in 90 days, and it gave me the perspective to really feel grateful for the momentum I have going into Q2.
Yes, we’ll need to course-correct too. But take time to embrace the power of what has worked, acknowledge what you’ve already navigated, and use that insight as fuel.
Start by asking yourself a few honest Q1 check-in questions.
You'll need your financials and calendar handy, and your goals for Q1 if you have them written somewhere. I also highly recommend getting out a pen and paper, taking 30 minutes to really think through/review data, and then write out your answers.
To create new insights and lasting change, it’s essential to show your brain the information in multiple formats by doing, seeing, and reflecting. You'll see an exponential return on this investment.
➡️ What offers gave you the best return on investment, not just financially, but energetically?
➡️ Where did your time, energy, and joy go, and what did you get in return?
➡️ What strategies, habits, or decisions had the biggest impact on your momentum?
➡️ What goals were achieved, and how did you actually achieve them?
➡️ What's simply not working - or having the same impact - anymore, even if it once moved the needle?
This type of review is about more than metrics. It’s about realignment.
Because we’re not building businesses that burn us out, we’re building ones that energize and sustain us.
Now, as you plan for Q2, zoom out.
➡️ How do your next 90 days fit into your yearly, 5-year, or 10-year vision?
➡️ Are those bigger goals still aligned, or is it time to evolve them?
➡️ Are there shifts that need to be made on the team to accommodate your business trajectory?
➡️ What are the 3 most important things that must get done in Q2 to get you closer to your annual goal? Who will do them? When? How?
➡️ Identify where you can delegate or detox, clearing space to focus on what really matters. Clear out your calendar accordingly, and make sure your schedule works for you.
From there, set goals that feel realistic based on what Q1 taught you, but don’t be afraid to stretch. And don’t forget to review how your goals align with your MVP: Mission, Values, and Purpose.
👉 (Psst, if you haven’t clarified your MVP yet, or if it’s due for an update, I created a MVP + Goals Guide & Template that makes this process plug-and-play.)
Q2 doesn’t need a total reinvention. It needs refinement.
You’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience. Let’s build from that clarity.
⚡ When your startup is ready to reach that next level, let's talk transformation.
