The Mentorship Effect: How Guidance Accelerates Growth

Execution is not true leadership.

Your calendar is packed. Your inbox is overflowing. Your to-do list never ends.

And instead of leading with vision, you're stuck running the business.

I get it. I’ve been there. But the biggest mindset shifts that moved me out of busy and into business haven’t come from working harder. They’ve come from mentorship.

How Mentorship Shifted My Leadership

Having the right mentors has transformed how I lead, both in my own business and in how I guide my clients. Here’s how:

It reminds me that people are people are people. (Thank you, Brené Brown.) No matter how successful someone is, we all experience doubt, setbacks, and big emotions. The key is recognizing our unique strengths and how we show up despite those challenges.

It expands my vision. Watching others step into higher levels of success pushes me to think bigger, refine my strategy, and show up more powerfully, for myself and my clients. Seeing what’s possible removes self-imposed limits.

It holds up a mirror. The best mentors don’t just give advice, they reflect back the power and leadership you already have within you.

Before I had mentors, I thought success was about figuring everything out on my own. But the truth is, the most successful leaders aren’t the ones who go it alone, they’re the ones who surround themselves with the right people.

Mentors Come in Many Forms

If you’re thinking, I don’t have a mentor, take a step back, because mentorship comes in more forms than we often realize.

🔹 The Mentor from Afar

➡️ You may never meet them, but their social media content, books, or business journey provide insight and inspiration. If you’ve ever felt like a podcast episode or LinkedIn post was speaking directly to you—that’s mentorship.

🔹 The Informal Mentor

➡️ Someone you respect in your field, a colleague, an advisor, a business connection. Maybe you don’t have a formal mentorship relationship, but you ask them questions, observe their approach, and look to them for guidance in key areas.

🔹 The Invested Mentor

➡️ A coach, teacher, or expert you intentionally hire or work with to gain deeper mentorship in a structured way. These relationships provide ongoing space for growth, reflection, and transformation.

Every great leader I know has had many of these mentorship relationships.

Who’s Supporting Your Next Level?

If you’re scaling, ask yourself:

🔹 Where do I need guidance or fresh perspective to move forward?

🔹 Who is already a few steps ahead of where I want to be?

🔹 Am I actively seeking mentorship—or trying to power through alone?

Because scaling isn’t just about strategy—it’s about who’s in your corner.

⚡ I'm here when you're ready to reach that next level.
